Abdominal Massage For A Summer Body!
It's hot here at the farm, we have full south facing sun and I have been enjoying every drop of it! I wear my tallow + zinc sunscreen, take lots of breaks in the woods, plant my toes in the moss by the zen tea hut, and spend a lot of my time sun bathing in the buff!
Wearing nothing but the hair on my legs makes me feel not only my most beautiful and purest self, connected to the earth and heavens, but also, makes me feel healthier by not sweating in plastic directly on my yoni or breasts (when you sweat, your pores are opening and inviting in whatever it is you’re wearing. Microplastics in delicate areas are a no from me).
But let's be honest, eventually I'll be swimming in a more public area, and I’ll have to conform to social norms and wear a bikini.
In contrast to nudity, bathing suits have a knack for making me feel yucky about my body. I can’t help it, that's our culture. There’s a high expectation for how a woman's body is “supposed” to look.
In the past year, I’ve gained a substantial amount of weight, and I love it. My moon time is so much more comfortable, and I see myself as a woman, in a woman’s body, ample and ready to conceive a child.
I had a profound realization a few days ago when looking down at my legs in the sunshine. “Ahh, here I am. In the body I’ve always wanted.”
This may sound simple, but the Truth is that God had always intended to be iterated in this exact form, my form (and yours too). Eons of incarnates were planned and plotted for Divinity to be shaped like this, like me. I thought of the years I spent wishing for a bigger bust, a larger tush. And here it is! In all its holiness and glory. I am here, in the body I always wanted.
What better way to care for a body like mine, and yours, than with abdominal massage!? With the pressures women and men alike feel, especially around their midsection, it is so important to give love to this area. For spiritual, mental and physiological benefits.
Abdominal massage promotes healthy digestion, drains excess lymph and bloating, moves stuck and stagnant, excess or deficient Qi to promote your best self, exactly as you are. Amplifiying the perfect body you already posess.
Balance the yin and yang energies of the organs. Support relief of symptoms due to SIBO, IBS, constipation, hernias, PMS, menstrual cramps and lower back pain by accessing deep pelvic muscles from the anterior side of the body.
These benefits can sometimes be seen, depending on the client, it could be in as little as one session.
I decided to experiment today, and offer you before and after photos of my unaltered, unclenched, fully loved and also confusingly and sometimes ashamed of, belly.
Before :)
After :)
Sure, it’s not a huge difference! And you shouldn’t expect there to be a big visual change from 10 minutes of abdominal work. These photos are timestamped at literally an hour and ten minutes apart, after the before photo, I went for a 15 minute walk, did three sets of three different ab workouts, squats with weights, sprinted up our hill 4 times, and followed it all up with 10-15 minutes of self abdominal massage.
I feel nourished and nurtured—proud of my small accomplishments on a hot day. In fact, after I took the “after” picture, I spontaneously joined in on a tai chi class! Something I likely wouldn’t have had the energy for if I hadn’t spent the time doing self treatment.
I’m excited to offer abdominal massage to you, the curious subject of my journal here. Let's give some love to the organs of your gut and to the plexus of joy in your life, together. Abdominal massage can be a part of your usual massage routine in The Source.
